Have you written a book you believe is ready for publication? Do you want to be traditionally published but have no idea where to begin? Are you unsure of how to get it out into the query trenches?  Do you want to know what query trenches mean as well as other publishing lingo?

That’s where I come in.

With my help as a publishing consultant, you can have an easier time sending out your manuscript.

My name is Erhu Kome, and I am a writer, editor and publishing consultant. I have been active in the writing community for over five years and I have published two books traditionally

The first is Dawsk published by Love Africa Press and the second is Not Seeing Is A Flower published by Eraserhead Press, which makes me the first female Nigerian bizarro author.

I am represented by the Accord literary agency. We share the same ideals, which is to see works by African authors, especially those authors living on the continent get the recognition they deserve.

I have also written numerous short stories that have been published widely and shortlisted for prizes and awards.

With the experience I have garnered, I can offer you the guidance you need for your book.

Let’s start with a little story.

I was chatting with a Nigerian writer who told me he wanted to write thrillers and suspense because he feels it is easier to get published in that genre.

I asked him why and he told me he believed it’s easier because thrillers and suspense are not popular genres.

I had to let him know that it is even harder to get published in those genres because they are not popular. I told him he actually has a higher chance of getting his romance manuscript published as there is a ravenous market for love stories.

But should that knowledge stop him?

The goal is to set realistic goals. To have all the information needed when it comes to choosing genres to write, knowing what is popular and what is not, picking publishing houses to submit to, and seeking agents.

Most writers will go through this process without the right information and come out dazed and confused when things do not go according to what they thought.

How will I work with you?

My sessions are not one size fits all and I cannot guarantee bestseller status, but I can assure you the right information will get to you and you will make better decisions about your manuscript .

I will be happy to answer whatever questions you have. In fact I encourage you to ask a lot questions in regards to your manuscript as that will better give you all the ammunition you need for the query trenches.
